This Wednesday, January 18, 2012, the moon will occult the 2.3 magnitude star of Delta Scorpius approximately around 23:00 UT in Northern China, Mongolia, and East Russia. Although times differ for location, which can be found here, this occultation will take place at a good time - the moon is waning (which the - sign after 22 indicates) at 22- illumination. The star should be easy to spot on a clear night, and the occultation in totality, should be pretty good. The occultation of Mu Sagittarius on January 21 (although in Africa) will be better, though. Below is a visibility map, provided by IOTA's bright star occultation catalog.
